Terms
Last revised 2026-10-19.
Draft — not yet reviewed. These terms are a working draft for the product owner's legal review. They are not legal advice and are not yet binding on anyone.
Before publication they need: the name and address of the operating legal entity, the governing law and venue, and a check against the app store terms the app will eventually be distributed under, which impose their own clauses.
What this covers
These terms cover this website and the Painter's Eye app. Painter's Eye is in development. Nothing here is a promise that it will be released, that any particular feature will exist, or that it will keep working in the form you last saw it.
What Painter's Eye is
Painter's Eye is training for visual judgment. It is not instruction in physical technique, it does not certify anything, and it does not determine whether a piece of art is good. Feedback inside the app describes what is in a stimulus — it is not a judgment of your taste or of your work.
Using the app
You may use Painter's Eye for your own practice, personal or professional. You may not:
- copy, redistribute or resell the app, the exercises or the written material in them;
- take apart, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law says you may;
- use it in a way that interferes with it working for other people, including the contact form on this site.
Accounts
An account is optional. If you make one, keep access to the Apple or Google account behind it: that is the only way in, and we cannot restore access to a sign-in we do not control. You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Account › Delete account…, which removes what is held for you. We may close an account that is being used to attack or abuse the service.
Your content
Your answers, progress and anything you type stay yours. Most of it never leaves your phone (see the privacy policy). If you send a message through the contact form, or opt in to sharing your training history, you are giving permission to use what you sent to answer you and to improve the product — nothing else.
Price
There is nothing to buy today, and no pricing has been decided. If paid features are introduced, their terms will be set out before anyone is asked to pay.
What we do not promise
Painter's Eye is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of defects, that it will be available without interruption, or that practising with it will produce any particular improvement in your painting. The exercises reflect a considered view of visual training; they are not the only valid one.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Painter's Eye is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising out of using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes
These terms may change as the product does. The revision date at the top says when they last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting it.

Governing law, venue, the operating entity and the app store addenda are all still to be filled in.
